WelcomeOrganizations and Coaches,
We at McHenry County Youth Sports Association would like to offer your organization and teams this great opportunity to play in the USSSA National Championship, which is a name change from our past affiliation. This 15u USSSA National Championship will follow all the procedures from the past 15 years and all the new implements of our new sanctioning body to make this event better than ever. We at McHenry County Youth Sports Association have been the leader in hosting one of the most prestigious youth events in the country. The question on everybody's mind is what has happened here in Illinois? The answer is simple "Nothing".
MCYSA has always put their best foot forward in all aspects of hosting a baseball event in Illinois. The direction we chose for our annual event in July was a direction to not only to enhance our program but also to offer opportunities to more teams outside the local state. We believe USSSA has the best system and with over 40,000 active baseball teams this offers us a unique opportunity to help us better serve our community by inviting teams from all over the country to patronize our local businesses.
In the past 15 years CABA has been a good partner for MCYSA and we wish them luck in their endeavors. We understand that with the changing of sanctioning bodies we have obstacles to overcome and we realize change is not always welcomed. At MCYSA we are going to continue to produce the same high quality events we always have. We understand for some loyalty is an issue. The question remains are you loyal to an affiliation or are you loyal to an event and the organization that has put it on for the past 15 years - MCYSA? If it is the event, we are the same group and that will not change.
We at MCYSA are not going to change how we have run this event in the past. The name of the event and the affiliation is the only thing that has changed here; we will still utilize the same helpful staff that has been dedicated to this event annually.
It has been posted that MCYSA has abandoned CABA after 15 years of a partnership. I believe a partnership is a two way street and in this day and age, it is a matter of choosing a sanctioning host and creating the best opportunity for your community no matter who you are affiliated with. Sometimes change is inevitable.
USSSA Baseball has given us a new perspective and a new future, and as a team we will work together to bring the best of the best teams in the world to an already prestigious location here in McHenry County. We welcome all out of town teams who played in the 2007 annual event to join us in 2008 with our current sanctioning body USSSA.
We hope you see this as another great annual event held in Illinois and hope everyone understands that the name has changed not the team.
MCYSA
